ELIZABETH A. URBANSKI

Principal

 

For more than twenty years, Elizabeth have been an independent art and design consultant.  She advises corporations and private clients on the acquisition and maintenance of contemporary fine art collections in public and private spaces. Elizabeth has acquired artwork for Fortune 500 companies including Pfizer, Inc. where she advised on the acquisition of all the art for several international divisions. She has worked with architects such as HLW and The Rockwell Group, where she acquired artwork for a 500 room casino hotel. A significant ongoing project is the creation of a contemporary art collection for noted philanthropists Marilyn and Jim Simon’s private charitable foundation — the Simons Foundation in NYC.

 

Elizabeth Urbanski served as the art curator of the Port Authority of NY & NJ which has an extensive corporate and public art collection. In this capacity she oversaw all aspects of collections management and helped research and present artists' proposals for large scale site specific public commissions through their 1% for art program.  She created a program for rotating artwork in the Port Authority’s public spaces such as Laguardia and Kennedy Airports.

 

A Smith College graduate,  Elizabeth Urbanski continued her academic studies with graduate work in art history at Harvard University and visual art administration at New York University. Elizabeth completed another M.A. in art history at Columbia University. In 2013 she gave a TEDx talk on Selfies entitled “Selfies: a Visual Analysis” which compared these instant self portraits to art historical precedents. She was the curator of the TEDx Navesink “Art at Play” exhibition which was installed at the Two River Theater, Red Bank, NJ in the Spring of 2014. She is a member of Art Table and the Association of Professional Art Advisors, both based in New York City.
